Importance of Mobile Phone in the Field of Teaching, Learning Process

Modern cultures are experiencing a tremendous expansion of technology in all spheres, including education. In keeping with this development, information and communication technology is being used more and more in educational settings as a teaching and learning aid.

Similar to a learning organization, academic institutions place a lot of emphasis on using cutting-edge technologies to accomplish their goals, particularly in the fields of teaching and learning. Additionally, mobile learning has become a cutting-edge technology development and educational trend that offers both educators and students a wealth of alternatives. The usage of mobile technologies is increasing the possibility for efficient teaching and learning.

This is a result of mobile learning's advantages, which include its capability to promote the development of critical thinking, collaborative learning, problem solving, and the acquisition of lifetime communication skills. Knowledge may also be shared without regard to time or geographical constraints. The definition of the word "mobile learning" is still being defined and is still changing daily.

Despite the ambiguity, this subject can be stated in a few straightforward ways.

The researcher names a few key terms, such as personal, spontaneous, situated private, and portable, to explain mobile learning. Using mobile and internet technologies, learners can access instructional materials at any time and from any location, according to researcher’s definition of mobile learning.

Mobile gadgets typically come in affordable, portable, and flexible varieties.

Therefore, it appears that learners find mobile technology to be very appealing and useful for the learning process. According to researchers, mobile phones include a variety of programs that can be helpful in the teaching and learning process, including common software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as specialized apps for learning languages and solving arithmetic problems.

Mobile learning stands out from other learning systems primarily due to its mobility.

Mobile learning can never completely replace traditional education, despite the advantages listed above, but when used properly, it can boost the value of current learning methods. Mobile phone use for education has been increasingly popular around the world. Many groups, particularly instructors and students, utilize these devices to share knowledge and reference dictionaries and thesauri.

They have been presented as one of the applications for both teaching and learning, in which they are presented as a brand-new possibility for the use of ICT in education.

The intention to use mobile technology or the attitude toward adopting that technology is referred to as "mobile learning acceptability".

Another definition of acceptance of mobile learning is when people acknowledge other people, a process, or a condition without striving to alter them or leave them. In their study, Researchers discovered that “experience” played an essential influence in faculty members’ acceptance of and desire to employ new instructional technology.

 Researcher aimed to investigate instructors' experiences with mobile learning technologies in his qualitative study.

According to his research, there are five main areas that need to be addressed: (a) how teachers view mobile learning; (b) reasons why people adopt mobile learning; (c) conduct expectations when using mobile learning; (d) obstacles to the adoption of mobile learning; and (e) the advantages of using mobile learning.

Researchers also looked at aspects including enjoyment, self-efficacy, and simplicity of use that can influence student acceptance of mobile learning and improve teacher-student interaction during lectures.   Researchers highlighted the factors that influence the use of mobile learning, such as Internet connection, educational programs, calculators, and calendars, in their study on faculty members at Kentucky and Tennessee institutions. Student cheating, improper content on the Internet, cyber bullying , and other potential barriers disruptions.

 Researchers looked at mobile learning in higher education in a poor nation in a different study. The results point to prospects for collaborative learning through information exchange, the growth of academic networks, and immediate communication.  The study's suggested mobile learning might foster collaborative learning settings, which can improve prospects for active learning.

In a mixed-methods study, Researchers looked at how prospective mathematics teachers felt about mobile learning, and the findings revealed that they did so favorably.

They claimed that this kind of education has some benefits and drawbacks.

It can be applied in extracurricular settings and improve academic performance, but it is not cost-effective.

In his dissertation, Researchers examined how higher education teachers perceived mobile learning, and the findings indicated that mobile learning approaches and tools were helpful in formulating classroom instruction strategies, helpful for professional learning, helpful in getting around time constraints when learning at anytime and anywhere, and helpful in facilitating teacher-student communication. A study on the usage of mobile devices to deliver educational content to pupils was undertaken by different researchers.

The findings showed that text messages and mobile devices are useful for sending course materials, but that there are no benefits to using these devices for sending educational information.

Students' life now revolves heavily around their smartphones. We live in a society when smartphones are widely used in every household and are easily accessible. You can be 99.9% certain that there will be a smartphone whether or not there is a desktop, laptop, tablet, or other type of device. The smartphone offers a portable platform that serves as an effective learning aid and is a common fixture in households across all demographics.

Not to mention, the smartphone can easily calculate and show content that is personalized and catered to the user.

Therefore, geo-location, social networking, search, newsfeed, and simulation-based programmers can be easily adapted to offer useful learning aids on the smartphone.

And the smartphone helps and supports this kind of distribution a great deal. Young learners' education can be greatly improved by integrating mobile learning with conventional teaching techniques. When the function of the smartphone in the learning process is properly understood, this blended-learning strategy can be very effective.
